Learning experiences: Thanks to the fact that I'm not only a teacher, but also a language learner (of Spanish) I can share my students' learning experiences and also get to think hard about how I can help my own students better.
How about sharing your learning experiences?
Have you ever heard the penny drop? I have. In our last Spanish lesson I suddenly discovered the logic behind some for me so far incomprehensible use of a vocabulary item and felt quite exhilarated. Elsbeth
Have you ever had such learning experiences and what made the pennydrop?
Have you ever experienced a non-European language? During my stay at our daughter's in Thailand I took a couple of lessons and then tried out my newly-acquired language skills on several people. Our Thai son-in-law's family very much appreciated my efforts although my utterances were far from perfect. Besides, just two Thai words plus gestures helped me to get what I wanted in some shop. Elsbeth
Have you ever tried a couple of words in a different language and to what effect?
